Wildlife lovers , you will be delighted: orangutans, sea turtles, Irrawaddy dolphins, proboscis monkeys, tropical birds, crocodiles and even flying squirrels!
From Kuching , you visit the Semenggoh orangutan reserve , stay in the Batang Ai park with the Iban people , belonging to the Dayak ethnic group , former headhunters whose trophies are still visible in front of their longhouses . By boat or on foot, you explore the jungles of Kubah and the national parks of Bako and Tanjung Datu . To recover from your emotions, you take a few breaks on dream beaches before finishing in style at the amazing Mulu Caves , a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 13 days of travel in Malaysia, on the island of Borneo to explore in depth the state of Sarawak and its natural and cultural riches. The star here is the orangutan, literally “the man of the forest”. The proboscis monkeys, straight out of a comic strip, are also the stars in the Bako National Park . Bako National Park is located on a peninsula on the coast and the starting point for excursions to the park is Bako Village, a 35-minute drive from Kuching. From the village, continue by boat for about 25 minutes to the park headquarters. En route, there is a chance to see crocodiles, sea eagles and other shorebirds. Arrive at the park headquarters and start exploring the trails and looking for wildlife. Return to Kuching in the middle of the afternoon.

Along the way, stop at the Lachau Bazaar, stroll through the shops and small indigenous market, and have an early lunch at a local café. Then continue your journey arriving at Batang Ai Lake in the early afternoon. Climb aboard a rowboat and sail up the river to Nanga Sumpa to the Borneo Adventure lodge. After dinner, you can visit a Nanga Sumpa longhouse. Finally, why not relax on the ruai (communal veranda), spend time with the Iban and taste some local rice wine. Once there, take some time to relax, swim, and enjoy the rainforest surroundings. A barbecue lunch by the river will be prepared for you by your Iban hosts. Return to the lodge. After dinner, visit Nanga Sumpa Longhouse.

Today, we will depart early for the Semenggoh Wildlife Center located 24 kilometers from the center of Kuching. This orangutan rehabilitation center teaches orphaned or rescued orangutans how to survive in the wild. More than 20 orangutans live in the forest of the nature reserve and often return to the center at feeding times. Upon arrival, head to the briefing area. After a brief discussion from the rangers, take a short walk along a trail to the feeding area to watch orangutans descend from the trees for a free meal. Observe the diet of orangutans in need of rehabilitation. You can then freshen up at the hotel, before taking your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Domestic flight from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan Airport Upon arrival in Sandakan, you will join My Nature Resort in Sepilok. The rest of the day is free. MY Nature Resort is set in 25 acres of rainforest bordering the Sepilok Forest Reserve, a protected area rich in wildlife. Relax, swim in the pool, or take a stroll on the resort’s 1,050-meter-long boardwalk. Note: Giant red flying squirrels also reside within the grounds of the MY Nature Resort. They go out almost every night, but sightings are not guaranteed. They usually emerge from their nests between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. If you prefer a more relaxing experience, you can choose to stay at the resort rather than go to the canopy walkway at the nearby Rainforest Discovery Centre.

Your driver takes you to the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary today where the captive orangutans are reintroduced into the wild. You can observe them at their feeding stations in the rainforest and at the nursery (if open). Watch the feeding session at 10:00 a.m. Next, head to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Center (BSBCC). This center rescues captured Sun Bears and is involved in their conservation, rehabilitation and education. More than 30 sun bears live in the center of the bear house and outdoor enclosures. 11:30 am drive to Sukau. Arrive at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge around 1:30 pm and have lunch. 4:30 pm set off on a river cruise down the Kinabatangan River to the Menanggul River in search of proboscis monkeys, birds, reptiles, and other wildlife.

After breakfast, it’s time for a hike through the lush rainforest known for its rich diversity of plants and animal species and finally admire the Lipad Waterfall. Take a dip in the natural pool and enjoy a refreshing swim under the waterfall. It’s time to relax or explore the surrounding vegetation.
