Jaguar Safari Tour ([thisyear]-[nextyear])

We will welcome you at your hotel in Cuiabá at 8 am (overnight stay included). From there, we’ll head straight to Pantanal and our first lodge. During the drive, we may stop several times to observe the diverse fauna of Pantanal. Upon arrival at the lodge, we will have lunch. After lunch, we will explore the forest to look for Tufted-capuchin monkeys and coatis. In the evening, we will embark on a night safari in search of the Giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla). Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Before breakfast, we will explore the surroundings of the lodge, where we might spot toucans and Hyacinth macaws. After breakfast, we will go on a photo safari or hike in the woods to look for mammals and the Blue-crowned trogon (Trogon curucui). After lunch, we will depart for Porto Jofre, making several stops along the Transpantaneira road, which is an excellent place to observe various bird species. We will arrive at our second lodge for dinner and rest.

After breakfast, we will spend the entire morning on a boat searching for jaguars. Following a lunch break, our search for the big cat will continue into the afternoon until sunset.

After breakfast, we will depart for the final lodge of our trip. We will arrive by late morning, making frequent stops along the way to photograph the stunning landscapes and wildlife. Upon arrival, we will have lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, we will hike in the forest, offering another chance to spot monkeys, Coatis (Nasua nasua), and the Hyacinth macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus), the largest parrot in the world. In the evening, we will embark on a night safari to observe nocturnal fauna, including Anteaters (Tamandua tetradactyla), Tapirs (Tapirus terrestris), and nocturnal birds like owls.

Before breakfast, we will take another walk to observe nature at dawn, increasing our chances of surprising encounters with the local fauna. After breakfast, we will go horseback riding, which provides an excellent view of the vast Pantaneira plain. If you prefer not to horseback ride, we can substitute it with another observation activity. Lunch will be at the pousada. Afterward, we will return to Cuiabá’s airport or to a hotel of your choice (overnight in Cuiabá is not included).
