Pantanal River Cruise Safari 7D ([thisyear]-[nextyear])

We will meet our guide at 6:30 AM at the hotel or airport and then take the road transfer to the Pantanal, covering 100 km of paved road to the town of Poconé and an additional 145 km on dirt roads along the Transpantaneira Park Road to Porto Jofre. There, we will board the Aguapé boat, where lunch will be served on board. From there, we will head to the Encontro das Águas State Park, home to the largest concentration of jaguars in the Pantanal.
On this first afternoon, we will begin our safaris after lunch. Every day, after sunrise and breakfast, we will set out for safaris in motorboats equipped with radios, offering excellent chances to spot giant otters, kingfishers, howler monkeys, and the main attraction—the jaguar. It is rare to leave this park without seeing at least a few jaguars.
We will also encounter other fascinating wildlife, including capybaras, caimans, and a wide variety of birds. The birdlife here is fantastic, with many different species present, including jabirus, toucans, trogons, herons, and many others.
For the next two nights, the Aguapé boat will be anchored right at the entrance of the State Park, ensuring that we don’t miss a single moment!

After breakfast, we begin the boat safaris, with the main goal of spotting jaguars. We return for lunch on board and continue the safaris in the afternoon. Today’s exploration area is the Encontro das Águas State Park, along the Cuiabá River and its tributaries, an ideal location for spotting jaguars, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, giant otters, capybaras, caimans, anacondas, and many types of birds, including the hyacinth macaw. After the afternoon safari, dinner and overnight stay on board.

After breakfast, we once again begin the boat safaris, primarily in search of jaguars. We return for lunch on board and continue with the safaris in the afternoon. The exploration area remains the Encontro das Águas State Park, along the Cuiabá River and its tributaries, offering perfect opportunities to see jaguars, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, giant otters, capybaras, caimans, anacondas, and a variety of bird species, including the hyacinth macaw.
Later in the afternoon, we return downstream to the Aguapé boat. Upon arrival, dinner and overnight stay on board.
The Aguapé boat will continue sailing overnight toward Serra do Amolar.

This morning, we wake up in the Pantanal National Park area. After breakfast, as usual, we explore the region with speedboats. By midday, we will reach Serra do Amolar, where we will have lunch on board and explore the area. Around the nearby lagoons, there is a real chance of spotting the iconic giant water lily (Victoria amazonica).
In the late afternoon, the Aguapé boat resumes its journey upriver through the Uberaba and Gaiva bays—a perfect time to be aboard, enjoying panoramic views from the boat’s deck! Admiring the Serra do Amolar is undoubtedly an unforgettable experience.
Once covered by a vast sea in the past, the bays do not offer many opportunities for wildlife observation due to their size, although many water birds can still be spotted and photographed from the boat. The deck of the Aguapé provides a panoramic view, perfect for admiring the vastness of the bays as the boat approaches the Serra do Amolar.
During the night, the boat continues sailing along the Paraguay River.

We wake up as the Aguapé boat continues its journey toward the Taiamã Ecological Reserve. We will spend the morning exploring an area south to this reserve.
After lunch, with the boat anchored near the edge of the Taiamã Reserve, we resume the safaris in the speedboats, exploring the region in search of jaguars, giant otters, monkeys, birds, capybaras, and caimans. Today, our chances of spotting jaguars significantly increase as we approach the end of the trip. Tonight, the Aguapé boat will be anchored at the border of the Taiamã Reserve.

Today, after breakfast, we begin motorboat safaris in the Taiamã Reserve area. After lunch on board, if weather conditions are favorable, we continue exploring Taiamã in the afternoon. If necessary, we will extend the search toward the Descalvado area, exploring the Paraguay River and its bays and tributaries.
As every day, we delight in the variety of birdlife, but since yesterday, mammals have become increasingly present again, with jaguars remaining the primary target! Tonight, we stay near Descalvado.

After breakfast, we pack our belongings and begin the journey back to Cuiabá. We drive 75 km along a long dirt road in good condition (Facão Road). Along this route, there is a chance to spot local wildlife, so stay alert and keep your camera ready.
After covering the Facão Road, we will reach the main highway (BR 070) and drive another 200 km to Cuiabá. Upon arrival, we will have lunch near the airport and conclude the tour by taking you to the airport or your hotel.
